This painting I made to capture the autumn rainy evening.
When we were visiting my husband’s family in Russia, I invited my childhood girlfriend to come from Ukraine and meet me. We spend about a week together, and then she had to go back. This evening we went to the bus stop to get her on the interstate bus back to Kiev.
The weather was reflective of the mood: a little sad, but fresh with autumn smells and gratitude for time spent with a friend. In the distance I saw a couple walking into the night, breathing in the wetness of the slow rain, and happy to be together.
